We’ve heard a lot of stories and speculation over the years but as always, it’s hard to determine what is actually true and what isn’t. None the less, it’s our understanding that the property was originally just the cabin, which was lakefront at one time (where the Castle is currently sitting). Sometime in the early 2000’s, the cabin was relocated further back on the property and a “Castle Luxury Lodge” was envisioned. In 2007, the vision came to life as the owner(s) at the time broke ground and began construction of the “Castle Luxury Lodge”. Between 2007 and 2019, a few different owners took over the project but ultimately it never surpassed ~50% of its entire construction and sat unfinished and unoccupied for those 12 years. In late 2019, we purchased the property with the intent of finally finishing its construction and making it our vacation home. Then Covid happened which posed some extra challenges for us, our team and our resources. We’ve spent the past ~5 years completing construction, getting final permitting and inspections, updating the exterior, finishing the interiors, rehabbing the cabin and upgrading and making changes to the existing floor plans, rebuilding the dock, overhauling the landscaping and shopping and collecting items to furnish the home(s). In summer of 2024, we FINALLY completed the home and began sharing our Lake Castle with friends, family and renters and we have enjoyed every moment and memory made along the journey! 

We accept reservations via VRBO and Airbnb.

We consider small multi-day celebratory stays/rentals on a case-by-case basis. The Castle is located in a small and primarily residential community filled with wildlife and away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of city life. Out of respect for our neighboring residences, we do not allow parties or large events that can disrupt the peaceful quiet enjoyment of our community. Please inquire for more information. 

'The Castle' can accommodate up to 24 guests between the 16 beds. 'The Cabin' (an added cost) can accommodate another 6 guests between the 4 beds there. 

No, you cannot. We have a security gate leading to our long driveway ensuring privacy for us, our neighbors, and our guests. Visits/tours are by appointment only.

On a case-by-case basis, we do allow photography or filming to be done at the Castle. Please contact us directly for upcoming dates and times we may have available. 

Everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible! We include all luxury bed and bath linens, the kitchens are stocked for cooking and service, travel size bath amenities, kitchen and bath paper goods, games, puzzles and more. Contact us directly for a more specific list of what all is included. 

• We do NOT have TV/cable service on the property; although we have ‘Smart TVs’ with streaming capabilities and many free apps to utilize (such as GoogleTV and YouTube).
• All guests staying at or visiting the home must be registered. No pets allowed at any time. Undeclared guests and pets will incur a charge of $5,000 for the violation and subject to immediate cancellation of your stay. 
• We have a ‘high-level’ of security at the Castle at Summit Lake. We have a security monitoring system/company, as well as several outdoor cameras throughout the property. This ensures the security of us, our neighbors, and our guests. It also prevents potential trespassing or break-ins. 
• If you have NOT rented the Cabin (an additional cost), please be mindful that other guests, staff or owners may be staying there.
• Lastly, as disclosed in all our contracts: Guests must comply with all rules and regulations provided within their contract. Please understand that The Castle @ Summit Lake is a private residence and not a public hotel or facility. All uses must conform in spirit to this and allow for the private, quiet enjoyment of all neighbors. All guests must behave in a suitable and appropriate manner. Owners or property manager(s) reserve the right to determine whether behavior and use during a rental period conforms to this standard. Owners or property manager(s) reserve the right to halt a rental that is not conforming to these standards without advance notice and without refund. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, 7 days a week.
